Berserk!

Berserk! is a fangame set in the universe of the famous Berserk manga series. In the game, you control the main character, Guts, whom you have to help to survive as many nights as you can. Every night, just like in the manga, endless hordes of demons will try to take Guts' life and drag him to the depths of Hell.

Choose your statistics and skills

Before starting a new game, the first thing you'll have to do is allocate several points to your available stats and choose an exclusive skill. You can create different character builds, which will allow you to play the game in many different ways. Especially important is your choice of skill. Among the skills you can find is the jump, which will allow you to use Guts' huge sword to pass over enemies, or the sweeping attack, with which you can damage the three enemies in front of you.

Survive until dawn

In most roguelikes, you gain experience by killing monsters or exploring new areas. In Berserk!, however, the only way to get points to improve your character's stats is to survive the whole night. Each night you survive you'll earn character points that will allow you to improve your strength, dexterity or physique. But seeing the sun rise won't be easy. As the night progresses, more and more increasingly powerful demons will appear. If you want to survive, you must use the L key, which will allow you to look at and spot enemies from a distance.

Use all of Guts' weapons

One of the aspects that Guts is recognized for is the arsenal he usually carries with him. And that same arsenal can be found in Berserk!. The normal attack, of course, is just using his huge two-handed sword. But you can also use both the crossbow and the cannon at any time. However, you should try to leave these ranged weapons for the most critical moments, or for the demons that use ranged attacks themselves. Also remember that, when your health is very low, you can use fairy dust to heal quickly. Anything goes to survive.

A demon and action-packed roguelike

Download Berserk! if you like roguelikes and the Berserk manga. This game manages to combine both concepts with great success, offering an incredibly fun experience. While its exclusively ASCII visuals might put many players off, it won't pose any problem for true lovers of the genre.
